In 2013, we noticed something.
BC was in the midst of a provincial election, and it felt like everything was at stake. We had friends worried about education, family members thinking about healthcare, and colleagues wondering how we would balance environmental protection with economic strength. And yet – all we were hearing from the candidates was partisan rhetoric.
And on election day? Only 55% of BC’s eligible voters came out to voice their vote.
We knew we needed to find a way to bring elections back to the things that matter: issues, policies, and the people. Soon, voice my vote was born.
At voice my vote, we have two big goals: increasing voter turnout, and facilitating citizen engagement throughout the electoral process.
voice my vote is a non-partisan voter engagement organization run entirely by volunteer efforts. We have no political or corporate affiliations or funding, and we are a registered non-profit society.
